1. I never saw any Amitabh Bachchan/Chiranjeevi movies (in their so called "Rise to Stardom" decade)
2. I didn't like DDLJ the first time I saw it (Which did turn out to be one of the biggest movies EVER
3. I started watching movies religiously (by religiously, I mean every weekend, sometimes 2-3 a weekend and some more times back to back in the same theatre, same screen) only a few years ago.
However, I know why I became one..
- Im a die-hard romantic (ask my husband, about the tough time I give him expecting him to be one!)
- I dont listen to any genre of music except - movie music (if thats even a genre)
- I relate each and every character of a movie to just me, myself and MY life
The way I watch a movie ALMOST every weekend (my son, who is 2 years old would have watched more than 50 movies with me so far :)) and enjoy most if it, my friends and family think I'm slightly retarded! I follow all my favorite movie stars, critics, producers, directors on Twitter - stay on top of whats happening in the movie industry - so what if Barack Obama tweets about the happenings in the country, or if the entire Indian media is trying to fight over their petty issues and make a point!
I've known for sometime now that I want join the mass media - but had to clue as to what I would do there. Advertising, Journalism, Radio, Movies - After moving back and forth for what seems to me like forever, I think I kindda know now that I WANT to join the movie business.
What, how, when is something that is definitely worth pondering...
While I figure that out, I thought I might as well critique some movies and analyze the opportunities.
